The Mounds
03:01
|
|||
Cold rocks are under bare feet
pain in both legs of growth
ankles below lines of surface
the stream would forgive us both
oh, how you envied the silent
as drunken adults would say;
how you look just like your father
and how charming you'd be some day
Nighttime meant reoccurance of mild disturbance
sleeping, the sound of argue, I wish i knew you
Your backyard was gone by the autumn
when dewdrops appeared and froze
and I saw your tears from a doorframe
they colored your hair and clothes
you could'nt explicate further
when conjoined veins where torn apart
you asked me to play you the ragtime
then show you the left hand part
Nighttime meant reoccurance of mild disturbance
sleeping, the sound of argue, I wish i knew you.
oh, how you envied the silent
as drunken adults would say;
you've outgrown the looks of your father
you're different in every way
Nighttime meant reoccurance of mild disturbance
sleeping, the sound of argue, I wish i knew you.

I Will Not Be Blamed
02:27
|
|||
Don't come near the quarry
it's been long since i was there
and never trust the soothing silence
the hills could break and prove its violience
And I for one will not be blamed
for the death of James
I knew his ways
In every year or decade
I will visit, keep it surveyed
no God nor man can ever interpret
the reason for its cracking surface
And I for one will not be blamed
for the death of James
I heard him sing through dust and landslide,
I searched for days
I loved him so.

The Rapids
03:44
|
|||
Oh, these children of ours
they live as we sleep
in houses of reed
they're learning to breathe
safely beneath
"Son, don't you ever encounter the rapids
they'll know you are close and they'll strike.
Under tension of surface I look up the sundown,
as you're walking your way back home
every day by dusk."
Oh, my tomb is my rest (where I'm at ease)
what we have become
just specters to some
we're living in peace
safely beneath.
In springtime the levels will rise and submerge
the housings and mounds without trace
and people will flee as we take to the land
walking on soil and it's grace
I'm counting days.
"Son, don't you ever encounter the rapids
they'll know you are close and they'll strike.
Under tension of surface I look up the sundown,
as you're walking your way back home
every day by dusk."
